For the last one year, our news feeds have been flooded with the tragic news about the refugee crisis. People are fleeing the war zone, jumping onto boats and sailing the seas for a better future. Some have been lucky to find shelter in foreign lands but others have not.

Amidst the terrible chaos, the island of Lesvos, in Skala Sikamineas, Greece became the front line of the refugee crisis. An island with a mere population of 150 helped almost half a million refugees who were making the dangerous voyage across the Aegean Sea. Their uncompromising passion and the help they extended to these men, women and children have earned them a nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize.

"Can you really ignore what's in front of your eyes? Because tomorrow it could be me. I could be on a boat with my family and I would like to be helped," says fisherman Stratis Valamios in Ode to Lesvos, a new documentary film from Johnnie Walker The Journey.

Watch this epic tale of heroism that beautifully captures the spirit of hope and human triumph.
