The Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) troubles seem to be growing by the day, with yet more party MLAs being accused of wrongdoing.

On Wednesday, AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan was arrested on charges of sexual harassment, and on Thursday morning, party leader Somnath Bharti was arrested by Delhi Police for assaulting security guards at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, reports ANI.

A case against Bharti and his supporters was registered earlier this month at the Hauz Khas police station in the national capital.

This is not the first time that Bharti is in trouble. The former law minister is already facing charges of domestic violence and attempt to murder, following a complaint by his wife Lipika Mitra. In her complaint, Mitra alleged that Bharti had unleashed his dog on her in an attempt to kill her.

Last year in September, displeased by charges against him, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had said that Bharti had become an embarrassment to AAP.

Earlier this month, Kejriwal had sacked the minister for child welfare and social justice, Sandeep Kumar, after receiving a so-called 'objectionable CD' that showed Kumar in 'compromising positions' with two women in two separate instances. Kumar was arrested on 3 September after a woman accused him of rape.

According to an India Today report, with the arrest of Amanatullah Khan on Wednesday, Delhi Police has nabbed a total of 12 AAP MLAs so far this year.

In June, a case was registered against AAP MLA, Dinesh Mohaniya, for allegedly abusing and manhandling a woman and slapping a senior citizen in New Delhi.

AAP has blamed the BJP for launching a witch-hunt against it.
