Mriganka Singh, who belongs to the erstwhile royal family of Jammu and Kashmir, took a lead in displaying the off-shoulder trend that is doing the rounds this year. Known for her stylish persona, Singh walked as a showstopper for designer Suneet Varma who was showcasing his Fall Couture 2016 collection at the DLF Emporio mall in New Delhi.

Singh was wearing a maroon chiffon sari with floral motifs depicted in sequin work. Among one of many selected showstoppers -- which included real estate developer Harathi Reddy Rebello and singer Kanika Kapoor -- Singh stole the limelight with her graceful walk and bare shoulders that highlighted the diamond necklace she was wearing.

Varma, a veteran who has spent three decades in the fashion industry, was inspired by the moods and melodies from the 1970s, giving a contemporary twist to the silhouettes reminiscent of that time to cater to a younger audience.

Alongside classic styles such as saris and corsets, Varma also incorporated ponchos, off shoulder capes, short capri trousers and asymmetrical hemlines. Floral embroidery and sequin work decorated the outfits, that ranged in hues from maroons and purples to orange gold and copper, as well as bright orange and fuchsia pink.

Go for it. Stop being scared. Take a chance. #mondaymood
