12-Year-Old Allegedly Kidnapped, Gangraped By Cab Drivers In Kolkata

Both the accused have been arrested.

A 12-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped, gang-raped and later thrown off a bridge in Kolkata on Wednesday morning.

According to an NDTV report, the two taxi drivers picked up the girl, who lives on the pavement with her family, around 5 AM today morning. One of the accused works with Ola Cabs.

The report suggests that the accused were under the influence of alcohol when they committed the crime on the Park Circus flyover. Later, they threw the victim over a bridge into a canal.

Later on Wednesday, Ola Cabs put out a statement, saying:

"We are saddened by the reports of the alleged misbehaviour of a driver in Kolkata. On preliminary identification of the cab details shared by authorities, we have suspended the account associated with this cab with immediate effect. As per our records, this incident has not occurred while on the Ola platform. We will work with the authorities to share any information that will help support their investigation."

Both the accused have been arrested.
