Fans across India have been looking forward to the release of Neeraj Pandey's upcoming film, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, starring Sushant Singh Rajput.
In fact, the producers of the film, Fox Star Studios, are planning to release dubbed versions of the films in different states.
But the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has opposed releasing a dubbed version of the upcoming biopic in Maharashtrian theatres.
Amey Khopkar, president of the MNS film wing told India Today:
"We are not against the movie. In fact I myself will be watching the movie in theatres. But think of Marathi producers, who already have to struggle fighting for theatres. If big films with big names start releasing in Marathi, Marathi films will be left nowhere to go. And we will not allow that to happen."
The Indian Express added that MNS have also given a veiled ultimatum to the producers, saying that if a Marathi version of the film is released, it would face "democratic protests" from the MNS.
Last week, the official trailer of the film, dubbed in Tamil, was launched by the actor, Dhanush.
