Reliance has made their Jio Wifi device open for all with a preview offer of three months of unlimited 4G data. Earlier, this offer was only valid for the buyers of HP Laptop.

Jio has now listed the device on their website priced at ₹2899 with the preview offer. There is no need for any coupon code or invite to buy the device. Any user can walk into a Reliance digital or mini store, submit their proof of identity to get the device with a Jio SIM.

The JioFi device is a Wifi hotspot made by Haier. You can connect up to 10 devices to the WiFi network. Additionally, you can connect one device through USB tethering.

It has a battery capacity of 2300mAh which might be sufficient for a workday if you are using 1-2 devices. The company says that the battery will last for 6 hours.

It also has a support for a MicroSD card up to 32 GB. You can make the device act as a WiFi enabled storage drive and transfer the data back and forth.

For HD video calls you have to download the JioJoin app on your mobile phone. But then this won't be the same as VoLTE experience on the phones.

Reliance Jio has been in the news for quite some time for their unlimited preview offers. The offer which was initially started for LYF phone buyer was extended to Samsung mobile and HP laptop users. Rumors were also there that even iPhone users would be able to snatch a Jio SIM.

A report from PhoneRadar also suggests that now If you buy a smartphone priced above ₹10000 at a reliance digital store, you can get a Jio SIM with it. Jio's preview offer also extends access to their 8 premium apps.

Meanwhile, Jio is locking horns with other Telecos regarding a number of matters including sharing of network space. The Celular Operators Association of India (COAI) has said that Jio has enough network capacity as of now.
