LeEco, CoolPad Launch Cool 1 With Dual Camera Setup

This is the first joint smartphone released after LeEco acquired Coolpad.

LeEco and Coolpad announced their first joint gadget in the smartphone market named Cool 1. This comes after LeEco acquired a controlling stake of 28.6% in Coolpad. The phone which has been launched in China is available from 24 August.

The unique thing about this phone is the dual camera setup. It was rumored that LeEco will launch the dual camera in on of their own phones. But instead, they choose Cool 1.

A lot of other smartphone manufacturers are opting for the dual-cameras on the rear. At the start of the year, LG had something similar in LG G5. More recent examples are Honor 8, Huawei P9 and Xolo Black. Some of the reports suggest that the higher end version of the new iPhone will also sport a dual camera set up.

Other specifications of the Cool 1 smartphone are run-of-the-mill for a mid-range smartphone. It has a 5.5-inch full HD display. The full metal bodied phone has Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor under the hood.

LeEco

The rear cameras are of 13 MP both with PDAF(Phase Detection Autofocus) technology. One of them captures color while the other is for monochrome photography. And the front camera is of 8 MP with 80-degree wide angle support.

In terms of RAM and Internal storage, the company has launched three variants. The first variant has 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage, the second one dons a 4 GB RAM and 32 GB storage, and the high-end variant has a 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage. Prices for these variants are 1099 Yuan, 1499 Yuan, and 1699 Yuan.

Cool 1 has a sizable 4060 mAh battery with USB type C support. It runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 with EUI 5.6 customization on the top.

The phone is available in three colors gold, silver and rose gold. In India, LeEco recently launched a series of smart TV sets. The base 55-inch model starts from ₹59790.
