20-Year-Old Woman Gangraped Twice In Maharashtra's Palghar

No arrests have been made so far.

PALGHAR -- A 20-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped twice in a week by four persons, police said today.

The incident took place near a leprosy centre on 5 August and again on 11 August, the police complaint lodged by the victim, said.

The Waliv Police from Vasai last night registered an offence under sections 376(d) 363, 341 and 328 of the IPC against the four absconding accused.

According to police, the woman was picked up by the four accused who took her to an isolated place near the Navjian Naka into the compound of a leprosy centre and raped her taking turns.

The accused placed a handkerchief in her mouth and rendered her unconscious after which they abused her.

Two of the accused have been identified by the victim as Abdul and Arbaz. No arrests have been made so far and further probe is underway.
