Shobhaa De Gets Roasted On Twitter After Her Dig At Indian Olympians

Masochist.
Twitter

On Monday, writer and columnist Shobhaa De took to Twitter and posted, "Goal of Team India at the Olympics: Rio jao. Selfies lo. Khaali haat wapas aao. What a waste of money and opportunity."

While path-breaking gymnast Dipa Karmakar has been exceptional in this Olympics, the news from Rio de Janeiro hasn't been too encouraging for Indians after ace shooter Abhinav Bindra missed out on a bronze medal and the men's hockey team slumped to a 1-2 defeat to Germany.

Predictably, De's jarring tweet hasn't gone down too well with Indian fans and in no time Twitterverse lost all its chill. Ouch, Shobhaa jii, but of course you knew you had it coming.
