After KickAss Torrents Popular Search Engine Torrentz.eu Shuts Down

One of the biggest Torrent websites and search engine Torrentz.eu has decided to shut down. There is no explanation given on the reason behind this decision. In a message to its fans, the website says 'Torrentz will always love you. Farewell'.

This is another big shutdown in the world of the torrent website after Kickass torrent was taken down recently. The alleged owner of the Kickass torrent website was arrested. The US government had seized the domain and decided to take it down.

Torrentz was one of the oldest websites which was active till now. Founded in 2003 it had a simple interface for searching torrents and that's what attracted most of the users towards the website.

Initially, it acted as a torrent hosting website but later on, it branched towards becoming a search engine for the other services.

The website even had a procedure for the copyright holders to file a complaint to take down a particular link.

The website now bears a message, "Torrentz was a free, fast and powerful meta-search engine combining results from dozens of search engines".

The owner of the website has refused to comment anything said a report by Torrentzfreak.

A lot of mirror websites cropped up after the shutdown of the Kickass torrents. But the community is saying that it will be hard to replace Torrentz as it was one of the very few search engines.
