NEW DELHI -- A 22-year-old Nepalese woman was allegedly gangraped by three persons on the pretext of landing her a lucrative job in Ashok Nagar area in east Delhi.

One of the accused has been arrested, police said yesterday.

The victim, who lived in the same area, had met one of the accused, identified as Yogesh, recently. Yogesh had promised to find her a job.

She was called by Yogesh near a sweet shop in the area on Monday and taken to his flat, where his two friends - Amit and Sahil - were already present, police said.

The three forced her to drink alcohol, claiming they were celebrating Amit's birthday. Thereafter, they raped her, said a senior police officer.

She was also locked inside the bathroom in the flat, but somehow managed to escape from there.

Following a complaint, the victim was sent for a medical examination and an FIR was registered, he said.

Amit has been arrested while a search is on to arrest the other two accused, he added.
