Xiaomi added another member named Xiaomi Redmi Pro to their already impressive and growing lineup of smartphones. Earlier rumors suggested that Xiaomi would launch Xiaomi Redmi Note 4. But the company launched Redmi Pro along with Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air.
The highlight of the phone is dual camera lenses. Xiaomi has experimented with such technology the first time. Historically the company's smartphones have been very good at photography in the competing segments. The rear cameras are of 13 MP and 5 MP and the front camera is of 5 MP. In the past phones such as LG G5 and Huawei P9 have experimented with the dual camera setup.
Redmi Pro is built on the base of Redmi Note 3 with more powerful specs to boost. It has a 5.5 inch OLED screen. This is a departure from LCD panels which are used in most of the Xiaomi phones. It is using a MediaTek Helio X25 processor which has 10 cores. Amongst the three variants, the base model will be shipped with a Helio X20 processor.
Redmi Pro will have a good battery capacity with 4050 mAh of juice inside. Xiaomi is using USB C type of port for charging.
Three variants are based on the size of the RAM and the internal storage. The base model comes with a 3 GB RAM and 32 GB memory. The second variant will have 3 GB RAM and 64 GB memory. The highest model will be shipped with 4 GB RAM and 128 GB memory.
The three models are priced at 1499 (Approx Rs 15000) Yuan, 1699 Yuan (Approx Rs. 17000) and 1999 Yuan (Approx Rs. 20000). In China, this phone will be available from August 6.
Xiaomi today launched their first laptops ever under Mi Notebook Air series. The 12.5 inch and 13.3-inch models resemble Apple's MacBook Air.
