Pokemon GO

The Pokemon GO mania continues, as the game breaks records every day and more players join in to play. John Hanke, the CEO of Niantic labs who developed the game, took the stage at the San Diego Comic-Con 2016 to give fans a glimpse of what is in store as far as the future of the game goes. Hanke confirmed a few theories and discussed updates. Here's all you need to know about whats brewing with your favourite game.

Pokemon Trading

Jealous of your friend having caught too many Pikachu while you have been catching Pidgeys all day? Soon, Pokemon GO will allow trading of the Pokemon so you can entice your friend to give you one of his Pikachu in exchange for a powerful Pidgeyotto.

Customisation of Pokestops

Pokestops have turned out to be one of the most important elements in the game. So the game makers plan to include the ability to change the skin and name of the Pokestop. They will also include the ability to put up a customised picture.

AOL

This aspect of the game will make them earn more money. The company has already struck a deal with McDonalds for sponsored Pokestops. And if restaurants can do this, so can food-stalls and Dhabawalas in India.

Addition of new Pokemon

Hanke said at Comic-Con, that all 151 Pokemon are not in the game yet. Soon, they will be releasing the new set of Pokemon. He also confirmed that a certain type of Pokemon would be found in the area they are comfortable in. For instance, Pokemon such as Magikarp, Squirtle and Tentacool would be found around water bodies.

Other Announcements

In other announcements, Hanke said that in the future a male and a female Pokemon will be able to breed a new one. The company is working on the technical aspects currently so that the roll out in other countries is smooth. Pokemon GO players have often complained about the servers being down.

At the event, the avatars and names of the three leaders were also revealed.

Pokemon GO has now become the most successful ever first-week app launch in the App Store. While in the Google Play store, the game has been downloaded over 50 million times.
