The Viral Fever's 'Barely Speaking With Arnub' Is Returning With Season 2

If the 'promo' is anything to go by, it promises to be screamingly hilarious.

The voice of our nation is back, y'all.

The Viral Fever's Barely Speaking With Arnub, a parody chat show featuring creative head Biswapati Sarkar as an arrogant, self-obsessed news anchor named Arnub (subtle reference is subtle, of course), is returning to the interwebz for a second 'season'.

A 'promo' of the new season — actually a full-fledged sketch — was uploaded on Monday, depicting a scenario in which Arnub has quit Times Wow (that's the news channel he works for; again, a very subtle reference) to become an artist. A few 3 Idiots and The Newsroom references later, he is back.

The show, a desi take-off on Zach Galifianakis' Between Two Ferns, has previously featured Shah Rukh Khan, Arvind Kejriwal, Ranveer Singh, Parineeti Chopra, and Ali Zafar in its initial run, between October 2014 and February 2015.

Although they garnered a fair amount of popularity, Sarkar, who is also TVF's head writer, had been occupied in the interim scripting web-series such as Pitchers and Permanent Roommates.

"We get to see an expanded Arnub universe this time," he says, in a conversation with HuffPost India. "Also a more insane, juvenile, and patriotic Arnub."

This time around, Barely Speaking With Arnub will have six episodes, with each episode focusing on a specific social issue. The series begins on July 24.

Watch the promo sketch (featuring a hilarious cameo by a journalist named 'Rabeesh Kumar') above.
