Samson David, Infosys' Head of Artificial Intelligence Platform 'Mana,' and IT Infrastructure, is leaving the technology services company to join Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Mint reported.

David has served as the company's Senior Vice President and Global Head of Cloud, Infrastructure Services and Security since April 2015. He will join HP Enterprise as Senior Vice President, Enterprise Delivery. He joined Bangalore-based Infosys in 1992 and has worked across several roles including as COO of Infosys company EdgeVerve, before being appointed as the head of artificial intelligence platform Mana in April this year.

David's departure comes amid tough competition for Indian IT outsourcing companies who are trying to differentiate through automation initiatives such as the use of artificial intelligence platforms. Wipro uses AI platform 'Holmes', while Tata Consultancy Services has 'Ignio'.

While Infosys has outperformed its competition in recent months, in the past two years, at least a dozen senior executives - including former Chief Financial Officer, Rajiv Bansal; and EVPs Gautam Thakkar, former head of BPO, and Sanjay Jalona, former head of manufacturing - have left the company.

Infosys has embarked on a major turnaround strategy under its chief executive Vishal Sikka, who took the mantle in 2014. Its stock has appreciated nearly 60 per cent in the past five years. It was last trading at Rs 1,190 per share.

However, analysts expect additional currency pressure for the company and IT rivals TCS and Wipro, in the coming months in the wake of the the Brexit vote.
