Actor Tusshar Kapoor, recently seen in sister Ekta Kapoor's production Kya Kool Hain Hum 3, has become a father.
Tusshar will be a single parent as the actor isn't married, nor has he publicly spoken about having a live-in partner at the moment. When we called up the actor to congratulate him on this exciting turn in his life, he was predictably ecstatic and said he'll be addressing the media soon.
Tusshar's baby boy, who was born in Mumbai's Jaslok Hospital, has been named Laksshya.
In a statement shared with the media, Tusshar's parents Shobha Kapoor and legendary actor Jeetendra said, "We could not be more excited to be grandparents to Laksshya, and are completely supportive of Tusshar's decision. This is certainly a tremendous blessing and an exciting time in our lives. Tusshar is a wonderful son, and he has proven, with responsibility, independence, and kindness, that he will be a great father to Laksshya.
Laksshya will be the Kapoor family's first grandchild, as Tusshar's sister Ekta isn't married yet, nor does she have any children.
Dr. Firuza Parikh, Director of IVF and Genetics at Jaslok, who led the treatment told The Indian Express, "I am impressed with Tusshar's determination to be a father. He maintained a keen interest in the baby's health at every stage. He will surely be a sensitive and nurturing parent. Recently, we have had many single men and women approved for parenthood. As a public figure, Tusshar's brave and bold decision will open the field of assisted reproduction making it accessible to not just single parents, but also to many who fervently desire to raise a child and are unable to do so.
In the past, Shah Rukh Khan has had a baby through IVF surrogacy. AbRam, who was born on May 27, 2013, recently celebrated his third birthday.
