24 Year Old Woman Infosys Employee Stabbed To Death At Chennai Train Station

A 24-year-old woman was stabbed to death at a train station in Chennai early Friday morning. The victim, identified as S Swathi, had reportedly been dropped off at the Nungambakkam railway station by her father Santhana Gopalakrishnan around 6 am. Eye witnesses reportedly told police that they saw a man approach Swathi and have a verbal argument with her. He then pulled out a knife and stabbed her in the face and neck several times.

While the attacker's identity is as yet unknown, but the cops are reported to be pursuing several leads. The victim had apparently had a fight with a cab driver last week. Cops are also investigating if the attacker was known to Swathi. The man was reported to have been wearing black pants and a green shirt at the time of the attack.

Meanwhile, Infosys released a statement condoling their employee's death. "We are working with the local authorities as they investigate the matter and will continue to provide our co-operation and support," the company said in a press statement.

Swathi was unmarried and a resident of South Gangai Amman Koil Street in Choolaimedu, close to the railway station where she was killed. There was no CCTV coverage in the train station where the incident took place.
