Natural leader that he is, Baba Ramdev likes to stay ahead of the curve. So, two days before International Yoga Day, India's Yogi Number One decided to impart some yogic lessons to 35,000-odd young enthusiasts, right in the shadow of the mighty edifices that house the apparatus of the Indian State.
So, on Sunday, a large group gathered at the Rajpath in New Delhi and Ramdev took to the stage, with BJP luminaries such as Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu, and MPs Manoj Tiwari, Babul Supriyo and Meenakshi Lekhi, in attendance. Also part of the yoga camp was singer Kailash Kher, who began by breaking into his more popular numbers.
We always knew that Baba Ramdev was a master yogi, and by now we have also learnt that the Baba never misses a beat.

As Kher’s band members strummed their electric guitars, Ramdev began performing yoga to the music, with laser lights flashing across the stage.
The crowd, as can be seen in the video, tried to follow his lead for a while. But then, matching Baba's various postures can hardly be an easy task. So, pretty soon, the yoga disciples began taking selfies as Ramdev swung his leg over his head, notes The Indian Express.
"Doing Surya Namaskar does not convert a Muslim into a Hindu," the Baba intoned while showing the masses how it is done. By showing how yoga transcends religion, he certainly struck a blow for secularism, but the truly transcendental message of the day lay in displaying of how politics, commerce, showbiz and yoga can become a seamless one, seemingly disparate streams that find their confluence in the one and only, Baba Ramdev.Suggest a correction
