After holding a havan in the last month to pray for Donald Trump’s victory in the U.S presidential elections, right wing organisation Hindu Sena on Tuesday held birthday celebrations for him at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.

Calling the US Republican party candidate a ‘saviour of humanity’ and the ‘messiah against Islamic terror’, the Hindu Sena celebrated Trump’s birthday with balloons, posters and by cutting a birthday cake and wished him- Tum jiyo hazaro saal

The posters, in which Trump is seen holding a gun, is testimony to how the little known group considers Trump as their hero.

Speaking to IndianExpress.com, members of the Hindu Sena said that they were organising the event because they considered Trump to be their ‘hero’.

“Donald Trump is speaking the entire world’s ‘mann ki baat’ (a reference to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s radio show Mann ki Baat) against Islamic terror and we support it,” national president of Hindu Sena Vishnu Gupta told IndianExpress.com.

According to news reports, the group also plans to hold a rally in front of the American embassy and the JNU campus in New Delhi.

When asked about the support he was getting from other leaders or political parties, he said that no political leader was ready to speak against Trump because they are afraid of him. “The BJP used to speak against Islamic terror, but after coming to power it has also become a ‘secular party’.”
