Rocky Yadav, the son of a JD(U) legislator who is accused of killing a youth in a fit of road rage in Gaya, has been arrested, Gaya Senior Superintendent of Police, Garima Malik, said.
Yadav, whose mother Manorama Devi is a member of the legislative council, allegedly shot a teenager dead for overtaking his SUV in Gaya on Saturday and had been on the run ever since.
"We have been carrying out regular raids and based on our interrogation of various people we have made the arrest. I cannot give you more details right now," Malik told NDTV. Rocky was picked up from a factory located on the road to Bodh Gaya, NDTV reported quoting sources.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by Gaya City Superintendent of Police Awkash Kumar had gone to Devi's house yesterday and after a three-hour long search, questioned her about the whereabouts of his son.

Inspector General of Police (Patna Zone), NH Khan, had instructed the SIT to go with a detailed questionnaire to the MLC's house to seek relevant details.
Devi had earlier told NDTV: "We don't know where he is, he will surrender. We didn't play a role in his escape."

Earlier, Devi had said that the police were conducting a probe and truth would come out. She said if the court seeks presence of her son he would go there. Asked where her son was, Devi said she does not know.
Yadav allegedly gunned down Aditya Sachdeva, son of a Gaya businessman, for overtaking his SUV on the way to Gaya from Bodhgaya. Meanwhile, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Magadh Range) Suarabh Kumar said the Gaya Police were finding out how Rocky got hold of a licensed pistol.
The police would also approach External Affairs Ministry to prevent Rocky from leaving the country, he said. Rocky's father, RJD leader Bindi Yadav, has been arrested and was sent to 14 days in judicial custody today by a Gaya court.
However, writing for the Daily O, political journalist Kumar Shakti Shekhar alleged that the police have "deliberately made a weak case" against the accused.
"Surprisingly, the two were not remanded to police custody for interrogation, to know the whereabouts of Rocky, to know the circumstances in which he shot at the teenager and other related issues. Either the police deliberately made a weak case which made the court remand the duo to judicial custody or the police did not ask for their custody at all," Shekhar alleged.
