An eight-year-old boy died after the gate of an under-construction house belonging to cricketer Yuvraj Singh’s mother fell on him. The boy was swinging on the gate of Singh’s house when the accident happened.

Kuldeep, son of a labourer living in a nearby slum, was dangling on the gate of the under-construction house in Panchkula district on April 19 when the accident happened.

The boy was with maternal uncle on their way to fetch water when he started playing with the main gate which was not properly fixed. He was rescued from under the collapsed gate and later taken to the nearby hospital where he was declared dead.

Yuvraj and his mother were at their Gurugram residence at the time of the incident.

The house belonged to Yuvraj Singh’s mother Shabnam Singh.

The body of the boy has been returned to his family. The family has not filed a complaint.
