After Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor and Diljit Dosanjh, it was Alia Bhatt's look from the upcoming film, Udta Punjab that was revealed early morning today.

The Shaandaar (2015) actress took to Twitter to share her character's first look from the drugs-drama.

Good morning!!! :) and here we go.. #AliaInUdtaPunjabhttps://t.co/aZz8Omj3VO

Bhatt, who has been mostly seen as a spunky girl-next-door in films like 2 States, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, Kapoor and Sons, apparently plays a Bihari migrant, who becomes a victim of rape. Previously, the actress garnered quite a lot of acclaim for portraying the role of a sexually-abused girl in Imtiaz Ali's Highway (2014).

In the first look of Udta Punjab, the actress is seen traumatised, dressed in an over-sized salwaar kameez. She appears refreshingly de-glam and this looks like a role that could further elevate Bhatt's credibility as an actor.

Directed by Abhishek Chaubey (previous credits include Ishqiya, Dedh Ishqiya), the film's plot revolves around Punjab's notorious problem with drugs.

Kareena's look as Preet Sahani, a doctor who sacrificed a life full of comforts to take charge of the substance-abuse situation was revealed on Thursday.

The movie, which is co-production between Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Motion Pictures and the Vikas Bahl-Anurag Kashyap led Phantom films, will showcase its trailer on Saturday and is set to release on June 17.
