According to reports, actor Shah Rukh Khan is going to introduce the royal couple at the Bollywood gala.

"There will be lot of actors and friends so it will be fun. I think it's a big honour to be there and introduce them. We will decide if they want to see my film Fan or not. In England they still watch our films. So hopefully...let's see," Khan, 50, said.

But before the festivities, the royal couple stopped by the Taj Hotel in Mumbai, which was destroyed during the 2008 terror attacks.

Twenty-five years ago, William's mother Princess Diana, had made international headlines when a photo of her sitting on a bench during a solitary sightseeing trip to the Taj Mahal, a monument to love, was “widely interpreted as a symbol of the irreparable state of her marriage” to Prince Charles, according to Reuters.

The couple divorced in 1996 after 15 years of marriage, a year before Diana was killed in a car crash in Paris.

In contrast, her son William is excited about his trip to India and Bhutan with his wife, according to the official Kensington Palace Twitter handle.
