Rahul's lawyer, Neeraj Gupta, yesterday decided to drop the case citing 'humanitarian' reasons. Gupta said that he was withdrawing from the case because he was "kept in the dark" about a number of details from his client and his family.

Rahul who was admitted to the hospital on Sunday is yet to be discharged.

Mumbai police has not given any indication regarding the arrest. They are waiting for the medical certificate of discharge to arrest him, reports say.

According to a DNA report, Rahul, who is under Dr Santosh Goel's observation said, "He still has suicidal tendencies."

"I cannot leave him now because he can do anything. He is still on medication and becomes violent when effect of medicine wanes," adding that he is under depression and at times calls out to Pratyusha.

While several of Pratyusha's friends have come forward claiming that Singh was abusive and would often get violent, it was only after the actress' parents filed an FIR that the police booked him for abetment.

Balika Vadhu actress allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself inside her flat at Goregaon area of western suburbs in Mumbai.
