Life-size robot "Mark 1", modelled after a Hollywood star, responds with a blink after receiving a command by its creator Ricky Ma, 42, a product and graphic designer, during a demonstration in Hong Kong, China March 31, 2016. The eyes of the robot include face and color tracking functions. Ma, a robot enthusiast, spent a year-and-a half and more than HK$400,000 ($51,000) to create the robot to fulfil his childhood dream. A man from Hong Kong has built a robot which looks like Scarlett Johansson (Remember the movie 'Her'?). Rickey Ma, who is a product and graphics designer by profession, spend eighteen months and $50000 to build this robot codenamed Mark 1.

Ma used 3D printing technology and robotics software which he taught himself to build the robot. The humanoid has multiple functions. It can move its limbs and change the facial expressions as well. The designer has programmed the robot in such a way that it responds to questions asked through the microphone. When someone compliments the robot on its looks it blushes, smiles, winks and says "Thank You".

"I always wanted to make a robot. Ever since childhood, I thought I will make a robot when I grow up. But everyone told me off saying do you know how much money it takes," he said In an interview with the website Insider.

But all is not well as a Wired report suggests that he can be sued by the actress for impersonation. “If Ma were to gain commercially in almost any way from this, and even arguably the notoriety he has gained from this, Scarlett Johansson could almost certainly sue him", said Ryan Calo, a law professor at the University of Washington in the report.

This is another conformation in the field of robotics as recently Alphabet (Google) owned Boston Dynamics released a video of a humanoid called Atlas doing various tough and intelligent tasks. In the video robot walks through snow filled forest, pick up objects placed differently and gets up when a scientist strikes it down.
