A woman jumped from the second floor of a building in Howrah, West Bengal, after three men, including her boyfriend, allegedly tried to rape her. A pile of sand on the ground broke her fall and saved her life, according to reports. She was immediately rushed to a hospital with serious injuries to her face and head.

The three accused -- Nonto Bose, Samir Nayak and Chotan -- have been booked with charges of molestation and will today be produced before a Howrah court.

The woman, a resident of Liluah in Howrah, went to her boyfriend's place who told her that his sister wanted to meet her last evening. She was then allegedly forced to consume a spiked drink, following which the three allegedly assaulted her.

Even in her drugged state, the woman tried to escape rape and jumped off the building.

The woman has not yet given a written statement to the police, reported Times of India.
