Being in one relationship can prove challenging enough, but for this Maharashtrian youth, it was keeping the spark alive with seven different women that finally burnt his fingers.

Omprakash Rangnath Khandave, who hails from the state's Buldhana district, alleged that he committed these crimes to keep his girlfriends happy, said police in a Times of India report.

The youngest of Khandave’s girlfriends, a class 12 student who met him online, and received lavish gifts, is currently being questioned by the police to unearth more details.

The police who recovered 17 mobile phones and ₹4.5 lakh from Khandave, also said that the 26-year-old had always wanted to lead a life of luxury, and in order to do so would commit these burglaries from time to time. An alcoholic, Khandave’s idea of the good life was to ride in the AC coach of trains.

After registering several complaints in different cities, including Chhattisgarh, Bhusawal and Pune, the Maharashtra police finally caught up with Khandave, and also arrested a jeweller who would sell the gold ornaments he (Khandave) stole.
