In a bizarre incident, doctors have found ants living inside the ears of a 12-year-old girl in Ahmedabad. At least 10 to 15 ants are emerging from her ears every day, according to the Times Of India. It has even baffled the doctors treating Shreya Darji from Deesa town of Banskantha.

The girl complained of irritation in her ear to her parents in August last year. Shreya's father, Sanjay Darji took her for a check-up where the doctor removed around 9 to 10 ants from her ear.

The girl kept on complaining about the irritation as ants kept coming out of her ear. Shreya's parents then took her to Dr Jawahar Talsania, a city-based ENT specialist, who said this is the first time in his 32-year career that he has seen a case like this.

"She came to me yesterday, when I extracted around 10 big ants from ear," Talsania said.

"The girl's case is very challenging for me, as I have never seen such a case, nor found it in medical history. The big ants must be biting her, but the girl did not even feel pain inside her ears. Besides, there was no damage inside her ear," TOI quoted Talsania as saying.

The doctor says, Shreya will have to be kept under video observation if ants keep coming out of her ear.

The girl's father said, "It is not even the case that some big ants entered her ears by chance. It could not happen every day."

The family has tried everything from doctors to witch-doctors adding that there has not been any family history of such ailment.
