When it comes to public show of affection, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's enthusiasm is unparalleled. His effusive welcome of world leaders -- be it the bear hug for outgoing US President Barack Obama or the hand-in-hand walk down the red carpet with Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif -- make for great photo-opportunities. But recently his display of affection for French President François Hollande, who was in India for a three-day visit, backfired when social media users poked fun at photos of the awkward embrace.

Twitter users recently spotted a photograph of Modi hugging Hollande, and promptly compared it to a now-famous pose from the Oscar-winning Hollywood film Titanic (1997).
