GURGAON -- A Nepalese domestic help employed with a businessman allegedly committed suicide after being beaten up by a Supreme Court lawyer over a minor issue in a posh locality here, police said today.

The victim has been identified as Keshav Gamal, 21, who worked under one Deepak Malhotra, who owns a business in Delhi, and was working for him for the past couple of years.

The incident occurred yesterday in DLF Phase-1 area at around 3 pm when Keshav was reversing Malhotra's car for parking it and allegedly broke two flowers pots in the process, police said.

The pots were owned by Malhotra's neighbour, a senior counsel of the apex court, who then angered over the incident allegedly beat Keshav there with a stick, said Hawa Singh, ACP (PRO) Gurgaon Police.

Malhotra then came to his rescue but he was also abused by the lawyer. Keshav then went to his room on the third floor and committed suicide after locking the door from inside and hanging from a ceiling," Singh said.

The police have registered a case of abetment to suicide against the accused under various sections of the IPC in DLF Phase-1 Police Station.

The accused is absconding and a manhunt is on to nab him, Singh added.
