WATCH: Katrina Kaif, Aditya Roy Kapoor, And Tabu In 'Fitoor' Trailer

The Trailer Of 'Fitoor', A Desi Take On Charles Dickens' 'Great Expectations'

The trailer for Abhishek Kapoor's Fitoor was released online on Monday evening.

Starring Katrina Kaif, Tabu, and Aditya Roy Kapoor, the film is a Bollywood-ised remake of Charles Dickens' classic novel Great Expectations.

In the trailer, we see glimpses of the principal characters in a story set in Kashmir, much like Vishal Bhardwaj's Haider. Roy Kapoor, in a role based on the orphan Pip in Dickens' novel, plays a rising artist named Noor Nizami. Kaif plays Firdaus, this movie's take on Estella, while Tabu plays a desi Miss Havisham as Begum Hazrat.

While the trailer indicates an opulent, Bhansali-like melodramatic film, the visuals stand out for their beauty and compositions (credit to cinematographer Anay Goswamy, who also shot Kapoor's Kai Po Che).

The film releases on February 12.
