Tax payers with annual income of more than Rs10 lakh will not get subsidised cooking gas from next month. At present, all households are entitled to get 12 cylinders of 14.2-kg each at subsidised rate of Rs419.26, while the market price is Rs608.

The union government is set to increase the maternity leave for women employed in private firms from the existing 12 weeks to 26 weeks. The Women and Child Development Ministry will push for extending the leave to eight months, or 32 weeks, for women employed in both private and government sectors.
