When Bollywood Celebs Tweeted The Exact Same Thing About Reliance Jio, All At Once

All Of Bollywood Promoted Reliance Jio On Twitter Yesterday--In This Really Odd Way
Shah Rukh Khan/Twitter

On Sunday night, there was some unusual activity on Indian Twitter. A number of Bollywood's top celebrities tweeted at the same time and, more importantly, saying pretty much the exact same thing: praise and good wishes for Reliance's newly-launched 4G service Jio, which had just been unveiled at a glittering ceremony in Navi Mumbai.

No problem with this as a concept at all—it is what any self-respecting social media manager would aim for. But there was something unusual about this particular activity. One, they were all using almost the exact same words. Two, they pretty much got all of Bollywood's biggest names to 'tweet'. None of the stars disclosed if their tweet was a promotional activity.

Wow, creepy. Alan Moore couldn't have come up with this scenario.

Is it possible that all our Bollywood celebrities are actually undercover Reliance-promoting bots who work in the movies just to distract us? How and when did they get programmed? Whom do they all report to?

With the man himself #CelebratingJiopic.twitter.com/NoHtySVloY

Oh, right. Of course.
