The upcoming sequel of X-Men that releases next year has upset a US-based Hindu statesman with its comparison of the villain to Krishna: Yesterday, Rajan Zed tweeted out that this likening was ‘inappropriate, referring to the official trailer of X:Men: Apocalypse.
Zed is the President of the Universal Society of Hinduism in Nevada.
Comparing #Krishna to villain #Apocalypse in #XMenApocalypse trailer was inappropriate. Delete references to Krishna unless scripture based.

The trailer shows the villain, or Apocalypse -- played by Oscar Isaac saying: “I have been called many things over many lifetimes… Ra, Krishna, Yahweh.”
According to a report by Hindustan Times, Zed issued a statement saying “such trivialisation of Lord Krishna, who is highly revered in Hindus, is quite inappropriate and disturbing to the devotees.”
He also went on to explain how Hindus were upset over the comparison of the “blue-coloured villain” with their blue-hued deity. "Lord Krishna was meant to be worshipped in temples or home shrines, not for pushing movies for the mercantile greed of filmmakers," the statement read.
The leader, who claims to have delivered Hindu prayers in several US-based legislative bodies, also said that the reference was "another example of the poor use of Hinduism culture in Hollywood."
