This 2-Minute Time Lapse Video Of Mumbai Captures A City That Truly Never Sleeps

There's a reason why Mumbai is called the city that never sleeps. A time lapse video posted by photographer Ashwin Nagpal on YouTube captures the insomniac bustle of the maximum city.

The 2-and-a-half minute video takes you on a virtual trip around the city. Moonrise at CST station, the transition from morning to evening at the Bandra-Worli sea link, commuters on the over-bridge of Andheri railway station, Mumbai locals, The Bombay Stock Exchange building and the traffic at Dadar circle.

As Jerry Pinto wrote in his book-- Em and The Big Hoom, “In this city, every deserted street corner conceals a crowd. It appears in a minute when something disrupts the way in which the world is supposed to work. It can disappear almost as instantaneously.”

The time lapse video tells the story of that unstoppable Mumbai and that omnipresent crowd.

If you have ever lived in Mumbai, you will love it. If you have never lived in Mumbai, you will love it.
