NEW DELHI -- Ace Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal stunned reigning World Champion Carolina Marin in a thriller three set encounter to stay alive at the Badminton World Federation (BWF) Badminton Super Series Finals in Dubai.

Saina, who was off to a rocky start after her defeat against Japan's Nozomi Okuhara, scripted a brilliant 23-21, 9-21, 21-12 win over Marin, in the match that lasted an hour and 15 minutes.

Saina will face defending champion Tai Tzu Ying in her final league match today.

Meanwhile, Kidambi Srikanth suffered his second consecutive loss in the men's single event as he lost 13-21, 18-21 to Denmark's Viktor Axelsen.

Srikanth will meet Chinese Taipei's Chou Tien Chen today in his final Group B match in the round-robin stage.
