Narendra Modi To Visit Pakistan Next Year: Geo TV

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Pakistan next year to attend the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) summit, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj told Geo TV on Wednesday.

Swaraj, who is Islamabad to attend the Heart of Asia Conference, told senior journalist Saleh Zafir she would also accompany the Indian PM during the visit.

Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had invited Modi to attend the SAARC summit in Pakistan when the two met at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit held in Ufa, Russia this year.

National Security Advisor Ajit Doval met his Pakistani counterpart Naseer Khan Janjua on December 6 in Bangkok accompanied by Foreign Secretaries S Jaishanker and Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry.

The two PMs also met briefly on the sidelines of the climate change talks in Paris on November 30.
