NEW DELHI -- Better late than never: Congress Party Vice President Rahul Gandhi gets due credit for reaching out to young Indians, this year. But sometimes, even the best laid plans backfire.
And today was just one of those days for 45-year-old Gandhi, who got a rude shock while addressing students at the Mount Carmel College in Bangalore.
Accusing the Modi government of failing to walk the talk on its policies, Gandhi said, "Even though the BJP has come to power, I don't see a strategy, I don't see a clear direction. I hear a lot of talk."
But when he asked the students whether initiatives like Make In India and Swacch Bharat are working, the students shouted back - YES!
Visibly taken aback, Gandhi tried again. When their answer didn't change, he said, "Okay, I don't see Swacch Bharat working very well."
Tough crowd. Watch the video above.
