WATCH: 'Airlift', Starring Akshay Kumar And Nimrat Kaur, Has A Teaser Out

The Teaser For Akshay Kumar's Next, 'Airlift', Is Out

There's no stopping Akshay Kumar, is there? After four big releases this year (Baby, Gabbar Is Back, Brothers, Singh Is Bliing) the indefatigable action star will be seen next in the thriller Airlift, whose teaser was released online on Wednesday.

The film, which is based on the real-life evacuation of Indian nationals from Kuwait during the beginning of the Gulf War, has been directed by Raja Krishna Menon, whose previous directorial credits are Bas Yun Hi (2003) and Barah Anna (2009). Kumar plays a wealthy and influential businessman named Ranjit Katyal, who led a charmed life there with his wife Amrita (Nimrat Kaur) until Saddam Hussein's deadly invasion of Kuwait opens his eyes to reality.

Airlift tells the story of how Katyal became an unlikely hero as he helped the Indian government safely evacuate 1.7 lakh Indians from Kuwait — a Guinness world record for the most number of people evacuated by a civil airline that stands to this day.

Releasing on 22 January 2016, Airlift promises to be an edge-of-the-seat thriller peppered with plenty of adrenaline-filled action sequences (that look very promising) and heart-stopping suspense.
