This weekend, landmarks across the world reflected the French colours of bleu, blanc et rouge in solidarity with the victims of the horrific Paris terror attacks that killed over 129 people.

Mumbai authorities, with the best intention in the world, decided to illuminate the famous Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus in the same colours. Except, they got the colour sequence wrong and the CST ended up illuminated in the Dutch colours.

Instead of showing blue, white and red from left to right (in accordance with the French flag), CST showed the colour combination red, white and blue (top to bottom) -- which are the colours of Netherlands' flag.

“The world stands with Paris at this moment. Since the 26/11 attacks were of a similar nature and the CST station was also targeted then, the Central Railways has decided to stand by France in this moment of grief and express its support. The CST station will be illuminated with the French flag from between 7 pm and 11 pm,” a spokesperson for Central Railways had said.

But users on Twitter were quick to point out the discrepancy.

Isn't it wrong lighting at Mumbai CST. France flag is vertical this is Dutch flag. #ParisAttackspic.twitter.com/HMnSJ8E1BJ

And not too kindly, either.

Even though some tried to lighten the matter since it was clearly an oversight.

Here's what the other buildings from across the globe looked like two days after the Paris attack. They either have the blue, white and red from left to right or top to bottom.
