The guitar-toting Saurabh Nimbkar is a regular on the Virar-Bhandup local train in Mumbai, where he sings songs and collects money for cancer patients. On Sunday, however, he had an unusual visitor who wanted to hear him live. That turned out to be superstar, Amitabh Bachchan, who had earlier hosted Nimbkar on his show Aaj Ki Raat Zindagi, where samaritans are invited as guests.
"His story was heart breaking, Bachchan wrote on his blog, "I felt I would want to sit by him and travel the distance he does, do what he does, in a show of support and spirit for his incredible thinking".
Social media gushed over the magnanimity of Bachchan for choosing to commute in a Mumbai local.
