Shah Rukh Khan, fondly known as the 'King of Romance' or 'The Badshah of Bollywood', has made millions of hearts skip a beat with his intense eyes, his cheeky dimpled smile and his larger than life onscreen presence. SRK is famous for the many times he took on the names of 'Raj' or 'Rahul' and made them synonymous as a fervent ,over-reaching lover who would do anything for his ladylove. Here are the 15 times Shah Rukh took on the names of 'Raj' or 'Rahul'.

  • 'Darr' (1993)

  • 'Zamaana Deewana' (1995)

  • 'Yes Boss' (1997)

    Playing Rahul again, this scene is a throwback to the hugely famous train scene with Kajol in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge.

    Shah Rukh Khan's character in his upcoming movie Fan is rumoured to bear the name Rahul yet again.

    Aditya Chopra persuaded Shah Rukh to do this movie by telling him that the only way to be a superstar is to be "every woman's dream man, and every mother's dream son". This is exactly what Raj in DDLJ went on to be.

    Shah Rukh Khan plays a violin toting, dreamy music teacher named 'Raj' in an university who wages a war against the strict headmaster who despises love.
  • 'Chalte Chalte' (2003)
    In Chalte Chalte, Shah Rukh Khan continues to be the charmer as Raj who follows his lady love all the way to Greece to woo and win her.
  • 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi' (2008)
    Shah Rukh Khan returns to the trademark name 'Raj' after several movies and received several accolades for it from critics as the flamboyant extrovert, Raj. As Manish Gajjar of BBC said, "Shah Rukh Khan makes you laugh and cry as the nerdy-looking, clumsy, bespectacled Surinder and the all hip and happening Raj."
