This can happen only in India.

At a time when there's a raging debate on over the fundamental rights of the cow, a Muslim family in Meerut's Sikander Gate colony decided to celebrate Julie's birthday with much pompous. Julie happens to be one of their cows which turned one on Thursday.

According to a report in Times Of India, the family ordered a 10kg specially-designed eggless vanilla cake with miniature cow candies on its top for her and invited over 100 people for the birthday bash.

Julie was made to wear a birthday cap along with the guests who had come over to celebrate. The guests were treated to pakodas, fruits and sweets.

29-year-old Mohd Irshaad who works for a Noida-based chemical waste management firm told ToI that Julie and her mother Bholi are just like family members to them. So, it was celebrated like they would celebrate any other family member's birthday.

"We take care of them like we take care of other kids in the family. So, when time came for Julie's first birthday, we had to make it big," he said. The family spent nearly Rs 40,000 for the party.

The guests, in tun, brought gifts for Julie which included watermelon, bananas and pomegranates. And, they were all gift-wrapped.

Now, that's one lucky cow.
