Singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya Accused Of Molestation, Blames 'Anti-Hindu Forces'

Singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya who had recently stalked controversy by calling Pakistani singer Ghulam Ali a 'mosquito' from a 'terrorist country', has now found himself in trouble yet again.

The popular '90s playback singer has now been accused of abusing and molesting a 34-year-old woman, who filed an FIR against him on late Thursday night at the Oshiwara police station, Mumbai.

According to media reports, the incident happened at the Lokhandwala Durga Puja pandal of which Bhattacharya is one of the organisers. Reportedly, the victim had come there to watch noted singer Kailash Kher's performance.

Due to a large crowd, the woman reportedly had to leave her seat and stand up to watch the show, when she felt Bhattacharya 'touching her inappropriately'. After scolding the singer and objecting to his misconduct, which she said would complain against, Bhattacharya threatened her of the 'consequences', reported ANI.

While the Andheri resident is livid with Bhattacharya's behaviour, he claims to be ignorant and ready to audaciously blame the 'anti-Hindu forces'.

When The Indian Express asked him about the incident, Bhattacharya texted back, saying, “No idea !! It’s crowd management. Police and security do their job. Gate crash and nuisance is the main factor. We are also aware of anti Hindu forces/ terrorist threats and sabotage of this Hindu Durga Puja. And that is working well for them (sic).”

According to a recent report by ANI, Bhattacharya has denied all charges.

"Look at what happened at Abhishek Bachchan's wedding, a girl barged in and falsely accused him. How could I have molested a woman when I was not even near her? I don't even know if such a woman exists," he said.

Meanwhile, the Police have booked him under section 354 A (molestation) 506 and 34 of the IPC.
