Amitabh Bachchan's Granddaughter Steps Up Her Game For Her Debutante Ball In Paris

Globally recognised as one of the world’s hottest parties, le Bal des Débutantes Paris has, since 1992, been marking the official entry of 25 young women from reputed families across the world into the worlds of couture and media when they turn 18. This year’s le Bal shall play host to Amitabh Bachchan’s 17-year-old granddaughter, Navya Naveli Nanda. Navya is also Raj Kapoor’s great granddaughter.

The youngling who has been kept away from the eyes of the media for quite a while, shall now make a fashionable entry, and is already gearing up for the event, as depicted in this behind-the-scenes video by news agency AFP.

Navya was spotted in Paris with her mother Shweta Nanda at noted couturier Christian Dior’s headquarters. Each debutante is assigned a different designer for their gowns based on their personality by the le Bal team (their jewellery however comes from the same exclusive designer), and Navya scored the iconic French label.

Celebrating the current or expected achievements of these young ladies, le Ball is not an event to be taken lightly, and Navya is determined to shine. Under the keen eye of her mother, she is already attending dancing lessons, and practicing walking in heels. “I’ll also walk around on heels in my bedroom to make sure I don’t fall over,” says the London Oaks School student who is entrusting her makeup and hair to a French artist (the look chosen for Navya is to fix any flaws, but also highlight her youth and natural beauty).

Shweta Nanda expressed hope that her father would attend Navya’s grand night. “He is so busy,” she said in the video. “He’s doing so many things, but they are the apples of his eye, his grandchildren, so we hope he’ll be able to make it, and see her this way. It’s a first for all of us, and we’re very excited,” added the ecstatic mother.

The event shall take place on November 28. Here are some photos of Navya prepping up for the big event with her mother.
