KARACHI -- The United States on Thursday stressed the need for both India and Pakistan to work together to defeat terrorists.
In a press briefing, Mark Toner, the spokesperson for the US State Department said that ties between both the countries are critical to achieve peace and stability in South Asia.

According to the Dawn, Toner said the US wanted the perpetrators of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack, that left 166 people dead, to be held accountable for their crimes.
He added that US wants India to have stronger counter-terrorism cooperation with all the South Asia countries including Pakistan.
