WATCH: Ranveer Singh Talks Frankly About His Journey And Playing The Lead In Aditya Chopra's 'Befikre'

Ranveer Singh Broke Down Upon Hearing That He's The Lead In Aditya Chopra's 'Befikre'

It's official: Ranveer Singh will play the lead role in Aditya Chopra's upcoming film Befikre.

After announcing the project on the late Yash Chopra's birth anniversary (September 27), production house Yash Raj Films revealed that Singh would play the lead in the Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge director's first film in seven years. This was announced via an intimate selfie video in which Singh speaks frankly about his journey at YRF, who launched his career by casting him in his debut film Band Baaja Baaraat (2010).

In the video, Singh walks on the fourth floor of the YRF office and talks about the time he got his first role and how he reacted, by playing it cool at first and then eventually breaking down. He reacted in the exact same manner, he says, when he was told by Chopra that he'd be playing the lead in Befikre.
