What was supposed to be a normal bus ride, turned out to be something more — a lesson in modern farming and the state of affairs in India, for several commuters who were just on their way home after visiting a popular ashram in Bengaluru.

The man, identified as Binay Jefe by the social media, spoke earnestly on a variety of topics — from the hypocrisy of Indian buyers, choosing to buy vegetables from a supermarket rather than a roadside vendors, to the infuriating (to him) question people ask him, "Is this a cow or a buffalo," while enjoying their products, milk, meat and leather, among others.

Jefe goes on to explain the importance of farming, especially by well-educated young people, all the reasons why we should reduce the use of plastic and dispose off our garbage with responsibility, citing only one reason — "Don't you want your children, grandchildren to breathe as easily as you are able to?"

Struggling to cope with crop losses and burdened by debt in the midst of drought, several farmers are led to suicide.

Watch the complete video to learn more about the problems faced by farmers, in a language that is bound to "connect" with the Indian youth.
