NEW DELHI — Maharashtra Home Secretary KP Bakshi on Tuesday said that there was no connection between Sheena Bora murder probe and Rakesh Maria's removal as Mumbai Police Commissioner.

"There is no political reason behind this, it's a routine transfer," KP Bakshi told ANI.

"There should be no question of any connection between Sheena Bora murder probe and Rakesh Maria's promotion transfer," he added.

Earlier today, in a dramatic turn of events Rakesh Maria, who was heading the Sheena Bora Murder probe has been promoted to DG Home Guard.

Ahmed Jawed has replaced Maria as the Mumbai top-cop.
