Shahid Khan may have been avenged, but the bloodbath in Wasseypur doesn't seem to be over yet. According to a Mumbai Mirror report, director Anurag Kashyap will be making a third part in his Gangs Of Wasseypur franchise.

The 2012 crime drama films, which depict three generations of a family trapped in a cycle of violence, got positive reviews from critics around the world and were appreciated by audiences as well. Since its release, the films have garnered a cult-like popularity and characters such as Faisal Khan (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) have become a part of Indian pop culture. The entire film, which was five hours long but released in Indian theatres as two parts, premiered at the 65th Cannes International Film Festival in May 2012.

Zeishan Quadri, who was co-writer on the first two films, is reportedly all set to start writing the third installment. "It's great when your mentor appreciates your work," he told Mirror. "I am what I am today because of Anurag sir's guidance and encouragement. And will start work on Gangs of Wasseypur 3, soon."

Quadri also played the role of the hot-headed 'Definite' in the film (which, in a convoluted manner, led to cricketer Suresh Raina singing for his upcoming directorial debut, Meeruthiya Gangsters).

Kashyap wants Quadri to direct the third film, which is slated to release next year. "He's eager to learn and keeps reinventing and discovering ideas," said Kashyap, to Mirror. "In spite of not having any cinematic education, Zeishan has lots of courage. He has an incredible drive, which is four times mine."
